I don’t know if this a thing, but if not, I’m making it one! Why? Because to me, a big part of traveling is sampling the local food. Although food is clearly not the only important part of any given culture, it can give better insight into a place. So once a week (unless I run out of food pictures) I figured I would share a picture of food from my travels.
This first one comes from Chicago. What we noticed there was that all the meals we were served were big. And by big, I mean really big! Case in point: one day we decided to have a light breakfast, so I ordered a pancake, and my mom ordered a bowl of oatmeal with fruit. Sounds like a good plan, right? Wrong!!! Take a look at this beautiful bowl of oatmeal:

That thing could feed a small army! Notice the whole banana sticking out of it!
The pancake was pretty big, too, but I’m saving that for another time!
Oh, and it was good! I only made a dent in the oatmeal, but the fruit was delicious!
