Foodie Friday: The Giant Pancake

This is a follow-up to last week’s post about the giant bowl of oatmeal. Remember how we were attempting to eat light? Well, I ordered a pumpkin pancake, thinking it would be a somewhat light choice, and was excited because pumpkin anything is delicious! Much like the bowl of oatmeal, this pancake turned out to be way larger than I had anticipated.

I may look really excited about this pancake in the picture, but to be honest, I really didn’t see the point of the pancake being that big. Even if I had been super hungry, I think the lack of variety would have still prevented me from finishing it. The first bite was delicious and pumpkiny. By the hundredth or so bite, though, I was more thinking, “Ok, whatever, it’s a pumpkin pancake. What else do you have to offer?” This was a case of “too much of a good thing” (much like my watermelon incident the previous week…but that’s another story). Plus, the lack of protein caused me to feel hungry again much faster than if it had been a smaller pancake served alongside an egg or two. Not a bad meal, but not one I would order again due to the size.
